18th June…Pendragon in Lisbon

18th June 2009…..The Day arrived at last -- Lisbon here I come!

4:45am…..the alarm bell rings,

btw…I left the tomato…..strange things

Anyway, Great flight to Lisbon -- take off was 7:40am and I landed at 10:15.  Really enjoyed the flight…over the Isle of White across to Cherbourg and then South West (Mr Bligh) past the Channel Islands and then down the west coast of Brittany towards Spain, and finally down past Porto to Lisbon.

Clear Skies..

Landed in Lisbon…went to the Gentlemens area..ahem and was met by a lady cleaner in there hocking loogies like a good one! What happened to the Portuguese Beauties I’ve seen on tv???

Went outside and joined in the worlds longest Taxi queue…Amy and Dave (?) were getting married and Ireland had flown in to celebrate apparently, after 30mins wait I dived in a cab and asked for the Holiday Inn, the one with the pool on the roof. Taxi driver looked at me in a strange mackem way then eventually nodded and sped off like Speed Buggy racing Jenson Button.

Arrived at the Holiday Inn and was greeted by Rachel, went to get a coffee, but hell -- I was on Holiday so it was Coffee for Rachel and a nice SAGRES beer for me (not exactly Jupiler but beer non the less!)

Nick, Scott and Scott’s brother joined us for a quick chat, after ordering more coffee and another beer (then another beer as they didn’t have change) we popped up to the roof where the aformentioned pool was waiting. Peter joined us.

Not being one for heights I downed a beer to feel more relaxed and had a chat for 45 mins or so before they headed off to get ready and I headed off to my Hotel and for a Tapas bar and more beer…I was starting to enjoy this and felt I needed to share the experience with a couple of mates who I knew would enjoy me phoning them at work live from a hot Sunny Lisbon on the day of what was to be an Awesome gig….
