People wonder why…

friends ask why I follow Pendragon and seem to be a bit OCD and over the top when it comes to going to the gigs and playing the music back to back to back etc as they don’t kinda get it. Why do I go on facebook and speak to people I’ve only met a couple of times…

Well, it’s a fairly straight forward answer, like tonight when the smallest gesture gave me the biggest smile.  Every now and then I update my Facebook profile with Pendragon lyrics or names of songs – like tonight.  My earlier status was “travelling home from london” and when I got home I updated it to “is Home and Dry” a reference to a Pendragon song from Pure. 3 of my friends just clicked “like” and I knew in part it was for the Pendragon reference, but also in passing was the thought I was home safe and dry.

So getting back to the initial question – why Pendragon OCD? well it’s because of the Music of course, but also because of the friendship it’s brought me in following them, the people I meet and the interaction through this medium of the internet…we’re never alone!

Another little story of friendship – I was going to see Pendragon in Ittervoort and didn;t have a clue on how to get the tickets, Timo – just a fellow fan from the forum (at that time) offered to buy the tickets and stump up the cash – and said I could pay him back when we got there – No Problem (£50!!).  That’s friendship and generosity that you just don’t kinda get in life nowadays, and I’ll never forget that kindness – the gig sold out 10 minutes later…without his help I would have missed the best gig I’ve ever been to and the best weekend trip across France, Belgium and Holland. I now consider him to be a good friend.

Why do I go to the gigs – again, I love the music, but it also gives me the chance to catchup with the great friends I’ve made through following the band!

So it’s kinda corny, but means the World to me….we are a Band of Brothers, and I tip my had to you all

goodnight :)

Graeme

    Sure am!!!

but it’s pretty cool to have friends across the country and meet up at the gigs, have a beer and a chat…and already be up to speed with their lives coz we share in them through the wonder of Cyberspace!!

at work – documenting System Architecture listening to Acoustically Challenged…great stuff!!

The music will always be the most improtant thing but the people make it all even more special.

In less than 2 years I have made some great friends and the recent OCD roadtrip was so good, I agree with Graeme, Timo epitomises the friendliness that is Pendragon.

Not a day goes by with out eith chatting to Rach on MSN or one of the gang via Facebook, I am gutted about the Peel and am looking foward to another gig soon please!!!
